Funeral services were held yesterday.

CMA Country Christmas Airs Tonight

Jennifer Nettles has several reasons you won’t want to miss tonight’s CMA Country Christmas. There are at least three all-star collaborations, new twists on holiday classics and a few originals.

They are a fantastic vocal group and are having such a super successful year. And the talent on the show ranges everywhere from LeAnn Rimes, to Martina McBride, to Darius Rucker, Michael W. Smith, to David Nail … So, a star-studded event!”

This will be the sixth time hosting for Jennifer.

The show starts at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

Many Stores are making it clear that they will be CLOSED on Thanksgiving!

There's been a growing trend over the last few years of retail stores opening their doors on Thanksgiving Day. Lots of people may love the deals, but many more people think that Thanksgiving should be a day spent with friends and family – not spending money in stores. They also think its unfair of these stores to ask employees to work on Thanksgiving Day.
Well, there's been a public backlash to the trend. More than two-dozen stores are saying no to opening on Thanksgiving Day, and they deserve recognition.

Old Dominion talks about upcoming album release

Beer cans, truck beds, dashboard lights, kudzu … they’re all mentioned on Old Dominion’s upcoming album Meat and Candy. The band says writing about everyday things is what inspires them most.

Matt: “Everyday life is inspiring. So, you just have to find a new way to put a twist on it to make people take a step back and go, ‘Oh yeah, I never saw it that way.’”

Trevor: “And put it over a catchy melody.”

Carrie Underwood talks about song writing, new album.

Carrie Underwood co-wrote six out of the 13 songs on her upcoming album Storyteller. But that doesn’t mean the songs are all about her life.  She actually prefers writing other people’s stories to music instead of her memoir.

“It’s hard to put yourself out there. I feel like I do it in spurts or in … there’s glimpses … but I know I’m pretty hard to get to know. That’s just part of my personality. I have more fun telling other people’s stories.”

Thomas Rhett says that his new album is a good representation of the music he listened to growing up.

Last week, Thomas and his fans tried to break a world record by holding the world's largest Twister game to promote the album. Though thousands of fans showed up to participate, they didn't reach the 4,160 players they needed to break the current record.

Blake Shelton Talks About Divorce and What He's Doing Now

Blake Shelton says his and Miranda Lambert’s divorce was quick because that's the way it's done in Oklahoma.

“Miranda and I didn't have any kids and we had a prenuptial agreement, whatever. It was like, once we filed for divorce it was over in like a ten day...nine or ten day waiting period until it's over"

He and Miranda were glad it happened fast so they could beat the rumor mill.

“We knew if there was rumblings and rumors started coming out, they would just be that. because by the time anybody knew anything, it was over. It was done."

Blake may be single, but he’s not quite ready to mingle yet.  His friends say he’s taking some time to focus on The Voice, his music and himself.  A noticeably slimmer Blake has also been spending time on his ranch when he can.

Luke Bryan is always happy when fans come out to see him in concert, but maybe not this time. In case you missed it, a couple in Florida were arrested over the weekend after they left their two children, ages nine and 11, in their running car as they were inside enjoying Luke’s “Kick the Dust Up” concert.  Fans walking into the venue alerted police.  The parents were eventually reached and returned to the car, admitting they left the kids there so they could go to the show. They had reportedly driven 100 miles to the concert, and hadn’t made arrangements for a babysitter. The pair is now facing charges of child neglect.

George Strait flattered by moniker "The King"

George Strait has 60 number-ones hits, countless awards and the kind of longevity most stars long for. So it's no surprise that he's earned the nickname The King. He's flattered by the moniker, but isn't quite sure how the fuss all started.

“It's not something that I ever encouraged. At all, but it's nice to hear somebody say that because they mean well by it. But I don't know how or where or who started all of that."

Luke Bryan Balances Career and Family

Luke Bryan has a full house these days.  He and his wife Caroline are raising their two sons, Bo and Tate, along with his nephew and two nieces who lost both parents.  Even though he has an extremely busy tour schedule, Luke tries his best to get home often so he doesn’t miss out on family time.

"There's even been a couple of times when I've flown home through the night to be home for one of Bo's baseball games early that morning. You just manage it."

Luke’s sister died suddenly in 2007 and her husband died of an apparent heart attack last year, leaving behind the three children to be cared for by Luke and Caroline.

Garth Brooks tops Forbes list, Thomas Rhett's new release coming

Garth Brooks tops the Forbes list of country’s top earners for the past year.  Garth’s take was $90 million, making it the richest single year Forbes has ever calculated for a country act.  Following in a distant second is Toby Keith, who made $53 million.  Jason Aldean comes in at third with a $43.5 million haul.  In fourth place, it’s Luke Bryan with $42.5 million banked, followed by Kenny Chesney’s not too shabby $42 million paycheck.

Thomas Rhett says his upcoming album “Tangled Up” was influenced by all the music he’s been into over the past couple of years including soul, R&B, old school country and rock.  He actually wrote eight of the songs on the album.  Tangled Up is set to drop on September 25th.

Little Big Town off the road a little while longer

Little Big Town is being forced to cancel more dates to allow Jimi Westbrook to fully heal after surgery on his vocal cords.  After announcing the cancellation and postponement of some dates over the weekend, they cancelled more yesterday.  With that, it appears the tour will resume August 22nd in Canada.

Were the records for Blake and Miranda's divorce illegally sealed?

A former state rep in Oklahoma is complaining that the judge who granted Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s divorce acted illegally when he sealed the records.  According to state law, court records can be sealed only if there is a compelling reason to do so, and the judge must make public any such decision.  The judge in their case has been accused of ignoring both elements of that law.  The average citizen doesn’t get their case sealed.  Their records are made public.  So the argument is that this judge was doing a favor for celebrities.

Keith Urban Sued for a Million Dollars

Last month, Keith Urban was slapped with a lawsuit from Peter Beckett, a member of the 70’s rock band Player who accused Keith of stealing the band’s name to use on his Keith Urban Player line of guitars and guitar-playing aids that he regularly sells on The Home Shopping Network.  The lawsuit was dismissed and Keith didn’t have to pay a dime.  Beckett had been asking for a million dollars, so this was definitely a good outcome for Keith.

Why does Thomas Rhett Love Country Music So Much?

Thomas Rhett just loves the fact that country music is just one big community. He says being able to play shows with artists like Brett Eldredge, Luke Bryan, Randy Houser and Dustin Lynch is “so fun,” since they are all “so tight with each other.”

Thomas thinks it’s great that that even though the artists are competing when it comes to album sales, touring dollars and chart placement, they are “all still friends and kind of like a family.”

“I think that’s one of the coolest things about bein’ in the genre’,” he says. “Everybody kinda is rootin’ for the other, whether it’s a friendly competition or whatever it is.”

Kenny Chesney Visits the Reefs He Help Build

Kenny Chesney got to see the first of two reefs built through his partnership with Costa Del Mar Sunglasses and The Coastal Conservation Association.  The artificial reefs, which were built in the waters of the St. Johns River near Jacksonville, Florida, provide a habitat for fish and other undersea wildlife.  Kenny says it’s amazing that in only 18 months, these reefs aren’t just alive, they’re thriving with life.  Funding to build the concrete reefs came from the sales of Kenny’s signature sunglasses line.
